Ouchies! Feels Good
is a performance series which I’ve been hosting in my home since 2022 with the collaboration and support of my roommates. (special credit to my roommate Maria Camia for giving the series its name).
Each show features 3-5 short works of theater, film, music, dance, puppetry, poetry, or other live performance — with a total run time of 90 minutes or less — and is sometimes followed by an after party with vendors, DJs, dancing, mingling, and other party tricks. I’ve recently been experimenting with incorporating visual art installations as well.
It is largely an informal community event intended to create space for artists to share their work and enjoy each other.
In my curation I try to prioritize artists who may have been marginalized in or excluded from more institutional performance spaces. Each show has capacity for an audience of 25-50 people, and is promoted through a mailing list and word of mouth.
